An Endless Act
An Endless Act
By: Talya Langer
I wear the weight of the world well,
I don’t crumble, I don’t quit.
They whispered, fake it till you make it,
I took it one step further,
I lived it.
I smiled through the overwhelming urge to cry.
I lived when at times I wanted to die.
I hid the hurt behind my eyes.
It was all a front, a facade, a disguise.
Not every wound is meant to show,
not every scar lets the world know,
not every person portrays what is true,
I was broken, bruised, and moving through.
There wasn’t much that I could do,
“Because the people who you love depend on you”
