I Wonder

I Wonder

By: Talya Langer

I give until I’m empty,

not for a reward,

not for praise,

not for reputation,

not for return,

just because it’s who I am.

But still I wonder,

what would it be like

to be held the way I hold,

to be seen the way I see,

to be loved the way I love,

to be cared for when it’s unnecessary,

to be thought of randomly,

to feel the way I make others feel?

Just once,

I wish someone would love me

the way I love them.
